With California — and the nation — moving forward to develop high-speed train systems, engineers are focused on the principles, technologies and emerging issues surrounding the planning and design of high-speed rail systems. As America joins the list of nations implementing high-speed rail systems, a new generation of domestic engineers must be developed who can participate and lead in the design, construction and operations of today’s most important public infrastructure system.
